The main work in this concert, Dvorak's Mass in D, is a late work for soloists, choir and orchestra, featuring glorious choral music from this ever popular composer.
The Festival Chorus has built a reputation for commissioning choral music from rising star composers. Louise Drewett a London based composer has already written several works for choir, and has spent time with Festival Chorus the choir in preparation for this new work. Further details will be announced in due course.
Beethoven majestic Egmont overture will open the concert, and give conductor and orchestra their chance to shine in this Beethoven anniversary year.
